Older iTunes versions stop working with the iTunes store

If you’re holding on to your older Apple machines out of necessity or nostalgia, it’s probably going to pain you to know that Apple’s dropping support for iTunes versions under 10.0.

While iTunes on whole still seems to work just fine, the iTunes store has ceased to operate. You are still be able to listen to your music and watch your videos, but you won’t be able to make purchases.

We’re not surprised that Apple’s discounting support for “legacy” software, but the fact that they’re now making it impossible to purchase music through the application is a little bit strange.

Why wouldn’t you take someone’s money if they’re offering it up?
