AT&T: 3.6 Million iPhones activated in Q1 2011

AT&T: 3.6 Million iPhones activated in Q1 2011AT&T has announced that during Q1 2011 it activated 3.6 million iPhones. This is up from roughly 2.6 million in Q1 2010. According to the carrier, 23 percent of these activations were customers new to AT&T.

This helped the company see 10.2 percent growth in wireless revenues, with an 8.6 percent increase in wireless service revenues. According to the company, the churn rate — the number that measures people upgrading their current plans — hasn’t changed from previous quarters, indicating there isn’t a mass exodus of iPhone customers to Verizon, as some had predicted.
