Chula Vista, California Apple Store robbery ends in gun battle; robber killed by security guard

Apple Stores are robbed on a frequent basis. With all-glass fronts and expensive merchandise, a pretty penny is often just a smashed window away.

In fact, our local store here in Memphis has been robbed several times. Once, some thieves shot at the grocery store a few blocks away to distract police as they drove a car through the front of the store. True story.

As terrible as theft is, today at the Chula Vista Apple Store, things went south quickly during a robbery.

According to San Diego 6:

A security guard caught the suspects smashing the glass front doors of the Apple Store at the mall before the mall opened for the day.

The guard reportedly shot a male suspect in the head.

San Diego’s KGTV is reporting roughly 40 shots were fired between security and the robbers.
