For those that are unaware, Super Meat Boy is a hugely successful platformer that took the gaming world by storm last year. Up until now, the game has only been available for Xbox Live and PC customers, despite the demand for a Mac version. In a recent interview with Bytejacker (around 13 minutes in), Super Meat Boy designer Tommy Refenes confirmed that the game will be released for the Mac soon. When asked why the decision was taken to release a Mac version, Refenes replied, “Because I like money now.”

iOS 5 Wish List: Over the air game and app data syncing across devices
March 23, 2011
What’s the most annoying thing about iOS to date? There’s a lot of stuff to gripe about. Some things aren’t optimally designed, like notifcations, and other things are afterthoughts, like multi-tasking. But, there’s one thing that hasn’t even been addressed yet, and I think that iOS 5 could provide the best possible opportunity to introduce it: data syncing across iOS devices.
Apple releases a bunch of live performances from SXSW on iTunes
March 23, 2011
I took some heat on Twitter last week when I said that I would rather go to SXSW during the music festival than the interactive sessions. I stand by that sentiment, although if I could spend the time in Austin from the beginning of the event to the end, that would be optimal.
Sadly, I’ve yet to make it to SXSW in any capacity. From what I’ve heard, there were a lot of great music moments to be had. Apple managed to snag some recordings from a couple dozen shows, and they’ve made them available in iTunes.
I highly recommend the City and Colour EP. It’s great from beginning to end.
MarsEdit updated to version 3.2
March 23, 2011
MarsEdit, what I’d call the best blogging app for the Mac platform, just got bumped to version 3.2.
MarsEdit includes some great features. It can be used with WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, Squarespace, TypePad, Movable Type and more. It can upload and manage media easily, and save drafts locally for future editing or changes.
Almost every word I write for the Internet goes through MarsEdit. If you blog a lot from a Mac, it’s a must-have. It’s $39, but even that doesn’t cover the joy you’ll have not seeing WordPress’ “Add New Post” screen ever again.
The Bro Show turns 50
March 23, 2011
One of our favorite Mac podcasts just published its 50th episode.
The Bro Show — hosted by our buddies Myke Hurley and Terry Lucy — is a great podcast. The pair talk about Apple and other tech news, have some great guests, and highlight app picks each week which are always phenomenal.
Rumor: AirPlay to come to a TV near you, courtesy of Apple
March 23, 2011
AirPlay, Apple’s streaming technology, has changed the way that a lot of people use their home theatre equipment. Being able to push music and video from your iPhone, iPad, or computer to your Apple TV changed the way that I personally consume video and audio on a day to day basis.
The problem for most is that it requires purchasing an Apple TV to take advantage of the technology. At $99.00, it’s not exactly going to break the bank, but it is an additional cost nonetheless. Apple might be gearing up to change that.
iPhone 4 survives 1,000 foot fall just to spite glassgate
March 23, 2011
It’s not every day that an iPhone 4 dropped 10 feet survives the impact, especially with Glassgate being a real thing and all. Turns out, it can handle a lot more than at 10 foot fall. When Air Force Combat Controller Ron Walker leaned out over the open door of his plane before deploying jumpers into the air, his pocket opened, and out fell his iPhone 4.
Find My iPhone and an ATV ride later, he was able to track down the phone in a wooded area about 2 miles away.
Inkling gets funding from text book publishers to continue bringing books to the iPad
March 23, 2011

The iPad has had its fair share of success in the education sector. Students can now get access to rich content in ways that most in my generation could only dream of while we sat staring blankly at the blackboard. The sound of chalk scratching down the board while the teacher writes out the capitals of countries in Africa has been replaced by the sounds of the Sahara and the interactive maps of the forest. Things have changed, and Inkling is right there leading the way.
