Wishful thinking aside, BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) is not coming to iOS on April 26th. It’s being wildly reported online that RIM has been preparing for an iOS release of their messaging service, but it’s not true.
According to a representative from RIM, BBM is eventually going to make an appearance on iOS, but the date isn’t April 26th.
Sites were claiming that Jim Balsillie made the announcement in Toronto this week, but RIM is reporting that an announcement was never made, and that Jim Balsillie didn’t speak at any event in Toronto this week.
Listen, we get that RIM’s co-CEO likes to talk and make aggrandizing comments about the their products, but this doozy can’t be attributed to Basillie in any capacity.
Instead, it was a made up rumor on a forum.

Apple may not be planning on releasing the iPhone 5 at WWDC, but it has to come some time. No one knows when it will be released for certain, but that hasn’t stopped a lot of people from commenting one way or another on the internet.
Barron’s is reporting that the iPhone may actually ship late this summer, and likely before September. Peter Misek believes that Apple wants LTE capable handsets, as well as a GPS and Wi-Fi chip from Qualcomm in the iPhone 5.

Apple has historically enjoyed a place of prominence in many educational settings. Today, with the iPad 2 and MacBook One-to-One programs, that hasn’t changed much at all.
This week, Apple is highlighting this connection in the Mac App Store with a new featured section named “Macs in Class: Apps for Learning & Teaching.”

The boys and girls at iFixit are at it again. The group has taken apart both the GSM and CDMA iPad 2 to learn about the 3G radios used in each of them.
iFixit points out that these models are similar in design to what Apple did with the iPhone 4. The CDMA has no SIM slot, and the CDMA version packs on additional antenna.

The rumor mill has been churning hard on MobileMe for the past little while, especially since Steve Jobs has been quoted saying MobileMe “will get better in 2011.” With MobileMe retail boxes no longer available for purchase in stores, many have suggested the service will become free when these changes are released. Of course, with the retail boxes MIA, someone without a credit card can’t renew their subscription.
Such is the case with a reader of the German site macnews.de (German followed by English.) He visited an Apple Retail Store with the hopes of renewing his MobileMe subscription, but he was told there was no way they could help him. Apple Customer Care, when contacted, reported that Apple is ”currently working on offering customers alternate payment options.”

Most of us have Doodle Jump on our device, so the latest update is a real treat.
Yes, Doodle Jump’s latest update brings us multiplayer, so now we can compete against our friends!
In two-player mode you can challenge other Doodle Jumpers through Game Center. The two-player mode has a finish line, and the first player to reach it is the winner. Simple and addictive.
The power-ups are shared between the two players though so be warned: if you jump higher and faster, you will get them first. So if I lose, I will claim unfair advantage of course.
Oh, Lima Sky also say there is an iPad version with this feature on its way too.

What is it with all of these executives? They touch down in Australia, and then suddenly they think it’s fair game to make stuff up as they go along while talking in the presence of journalists.
Andy Lark, Dell’s global head of marketing for large enterprise and public organizations, while speaking to CIO Australia in Sydney, has been quoted as saying “Apple is great if you’ve got a lot of money and live on an island…It’s not so great if you have to exist in a diverse, open, connected enterprise; simple things become quite complex.”
He didn’t end there though. He went on to say, “An iPad with a keyboard, a mouse and a case [means] you’ll be at $1500 or $1600; that’s double of what you’re paying,” he claimed. “That’s not feasible.”
