Apple may not be planning on releasing the iPhone 5 at WWDC, but it has to come some time. No one knows when it will be released for certain, but that hasn’t stopped a lot of people from commenting one way or another on the internet.
Barron’s is reporting that the iPhone may actually ship late this summer, and likely before September. Peter Misek believes that Apple wants LTE capable handsets, as well as a GPS and Wi-Fi chip from Qualcomm in the iPhone 5.
We’re not sure about Misek’s track record, but Barron’s points out that he’s been saying since January that Apple’s planning on incorporating 4G into their handset. He has also mentioned that the iPhone 5 won’t be shipping until fall of this year. So, it’s not likely that he’s making these predictions based on the rumors earlier this week.
As always, when an analyst notices that a product will be shipping later than publicly expected they alter their sales estimates. Misek believes that Apple’s fiscal revenue will fall this year to $103 billion instead of the $107 billion they previously expected.
Frankly, I just want the iPhone 5 to be announced already. This iPhone 3G I’m carrying isn’t going to last much longer.
