Mac OS X Lion nearing GM status?

With the developer preview of Lion only a month old, MG Siegler at TechCrunch thinks the next version of OS X is already nearing GM status.

While that developer preview hasn’t been updated yet, Siegler believes Apple is busy squashing bugs and will be dropping a “GM1″ copy soon, to stay on track for a summer launch.

In the past, Apple has used WWDC to show off a near-final version of the next OS X, and release a near-final GM, so Siegler’s timing may be just right.
