iPad 2 supplies seem to be drying up again, much like they did right after the original iPad announcement. Today, shipping dates on the Apple website have gone from 1-2 weeks to 5-6 weeks for delivery. While early adopters have started seeing the iPad 2 show up at their doors this week, anyone ordering an iPad 2 today will be waiting well into April for their fancy new iPad 2.
If you recall, this happened last year. There was a lot of speculation last year that the reason the original iPad ship times slipped from a couple weeks to a couple of months was because demand outpaced supply.
On the heels of the news from The Loop yesterday that Apple is seeing a huge demand for the iPad 2, we may be heading down the same road this year as we did last year. While early reports have the majority of iPad 2 sales going to new users (about 70%), it’s not really all that surprising that Apple may see a supply crunch, resulting in their stockpiles dwindling very quickly.
Hopefully international shipping dates don’t slide from one month to another, much like they did with the original iPad.

I ordered my iPad 2 on launch day and received an estimated ship date of March 25. I just received email notification that my order will now ship on or before April 11th. Here is the part that is irritating, I see all over the news that Apple is ready to launch iPad 2 in 22 "other countries". How can this be true if they can't meet the demand of US customers. Apple, you need to take care of your people at home first!!!
