Rovi brings Roxio Toast 11 to the masses
The Finder does a lot of good things when it comes to burning disks and sharing your media, but sometimes you need just a little bit more. This is where Toast originally came into play. It was a must have for people who were burning a lot of DVDs, but it’s been a while since I’ve taken it for a spin. They’ve fallen off my radar until today, so we’re not sure if it’s still a go to application for most, but we thought we’d pass along some update information anyhow, for those of you who still use the bundle.

Today, Toast announced that version 11 of their application is shipping, and it seems like they’ve moved away from a burning platform, towards a media management tool. It obviously still lets you manage your backups to DVD, CD, and Blu-ray, but it also lets you stream video, backup vinyl and cassette disks, as well as share some of that info on the internet through social networks. But, they also focus heavily on the model that has kept them in business all these years.

Toast 11 also lets you:

  • Burn large files across multiple disks
  • Burn multiple disks to multiple drives at the same time
  • Copy optical media with one click
  • Compress and copy dual layer disks to single layer disks
  • Create DVD and blu-ray menus

The application is available for $99.99 for the platinum edition of Toast 11, and another $19.99 if you want to do any work with Blu-ray discs.
