Gameloft to use Unreal Engine 3 on 4 iOS games

You know the Unreal Engine. You’ve seen it before in games like Epic Citadel and Infinity Blade. The Engine took an already great gaming device and made it a huge contender for “hardcore” gamers. But it hasn’t stopped there—things are about to get a lot better on iOS. Gameloft has licensed the use of the Unreal Engine 3 for four new games. The games, which haven’t yet been announced, will be released between 2011 and 2012.

“Using Unreal Engine 3 allows us to push game visuals with remarkable lighting and high-fidelity environments. We are confident that players will enjoy the games powered by Unreal Engine 3.”

“There is no doubt that the four games running on Unreal Engine 3 will be visually stunning and take advantage of the powerful mobile gaming devices,” said Mark Rein, Vice President, Epic Games

Can you imagine a world where N.O.V.A 3 runs on the Unreal Engine? Man, that would become an instant classic in my book.
