Apple patent pretty much guarantees Photo Booth for iPhone

If you like Hipstamatic, Camera+, or any of those other photo manipulation applications for the iPhone, you’re going to be happy to know that Apple’s finally filed a patent application for Photo Booth on the iPhone. A couple of months back, rumors surfaced about the technology being included in the iPhone, but it wasn’t until today that anything official turned up.

According to a patent, Apple could add new camera settings that lets users toggle effects that tie into the accelerometer, gyroscope, as well as other effect frameworks based on APIs like GPS.

I personally wouldn’t use it, but I know a lot of people who would. The first thing most people do when they get a new Mac is fiddle around with Photo Booth. It provides a couple of LOL moments, then they move on. I wouldn’t mind seeing more photo effects built into the camera either. If I could get a mashup of Camera+ and Instagram, I’d be a happy fellow.
