What is Thunderbolt?

Apple recently introduced new MacBook Pro models, but in addition to the expected new Intel Sandy Bridge processors, another new feature was included in the update—Thunderbolt.

What is Thunderbolt?

Thunderbolt is the rebranded Intel technology formerly called Light Peak. Essentially, with Thunderbolt, a single cable allows high-speed connections between your Mac and peripherals. One cable to rule them all!

Macconnection has killer prices on the new MacBook Pros

With the new MacBook Pros released last week, I decided that it was time to upgrade my four year old MacBook. Now granted it still runs like a charm, but I felt I needed something that was a little faster and more up-to-date. Plus, the new MacBook Pros have the Thunderbolt technology that looks really great. My next step in my quest to upgrade my laptop was deciding which MacBook Pro I wanted, and how much I wanted to spend on it. I decided to go with the MacBook Pro 15-inchQuad Core i7. The final step now was deciding where I should by it from, and where I can get the best deal.

Gameloft to use Unreal Engine 3 on 4 iOS games

You know the Unreal Engine. You’ve seen it before in games like Epic Citadel and Infinity Blade. The Engine took an already great gaming device and made it a huge contender for “hardcore” gamers. But it hasn’t stopped there—things are about to get a lot better on iOS. Gameloft has licensed the use of the Unreal Engine 3 for four new games. The games, which haven’t yet been announced, will be released between 2011 and 2012.

Twitterrific 4.0.1 released

An update to the Icon Factory’s Twitter client for Mac has been released via the Mac App Store.

I’ve been using Twitterrific 4 since its launch, and it’s become my favorite client to date. This update fixes several of the issues that bothered me, including links sent to Safari opening in the foreground, and the inability to remove the icon from the menubar.

Here’s the complete list of changes…

Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing coming to the iPhone

I grew up on Mario Kart. The game was simple and very addicting. So addicting in fact that I spent a lot of time playing Mario Kart with my roommates in college a decade after its original release. That being said, most of my game play in the last couple of years has been on my Xbox 360 and my iOS devices. Nintendo will not bring Mario Kart to the iPhone or iPad, but it seems like Sega will.

Analyst: GSM, CDMA, but no LTE in Apples iPad 2

iPad 2 rumors are heating up now that announcement day is less than 72 hours away. Some analysts have taken the opportunity to fill in some of the blanks with the rumors. At this point, we can assume safely that the iPad 2 could be thinner and lighter, but LTE isn’t exactly in the cards according to Goldman analyst Bill Shope.
