Apple updates LED Cinema Display firmware

Yesterday, Apple released a firmware update for the 27-inch LED Cinema Display. The update includes:

  • This software updates the System Preferences pane where you can change Ambient Light Sensor settings.  Enable the option “Automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes” to turn the ambient light sensor on and off.  Use the slider to adjust the brightness level.
  • Additionally, this software update includes a modification to Sound preferences pane that will allow you to select the LED Cinema display as your audio output.  You can also control the left and right balance using the slider, as shown below.

The update is available via Software Update or directly from Apple’s website.
