Netflix adds ABC, Disney to their online video stream

The rumors are true, Netflix has been negotiating with the major television companies for rights to stream their shows without delay. Netflix has negotiated with ABC and Disney to bring the TV show release gap down to 15 days. While it isn’t exactly the on demand service that some were hoping for, Netflix will gain extra access to the catalog (including Lost, Scrubs, and Grey’s Anatomy).

What does this mean for Apple fans? The Apple TV just got a little bit better than it was yesterday. Already having access to Netflix from the device is a pretty good selling point, and now that Netflix is adding newly released television shows within a two week period from ABC and Disney, the offering becomes a little bit stronger.

We’re assuming that the agreement is only in place in the U.S., but this could also potentially influence international Netflix offerings. We’ve got some emails in to Netflix for clarifications. Should we hear back, we’ll be sure to update this post.
