OS X 10.6.5 update finished, release by end of week?

MacNN reported this morning that the build for OS X 10.6.5 is complete and available internally, according to sources close to Apple.

Purportedly, the 10.6.5 build has been accessible internally since Monday. This traditionally means that the newest version of OS X will be downloadable via Software Update within one to two days.

The latest build of OS X has been a long time coming, as the last Snow Leopard update occurred months ago.

Here is a brief list of what you can expect to see in the 10.6.5 build:

  • Update in graphics stability/performance
  • Update in printing stability/performance
  • Update in Exchange server stability/performance
  • Fix in iPhoto processing operations issues
  • Fix in Aperture processing operations issues
  • Minor bug fixes, including issues with the Dock not hiding and issues dragging contacts from Address Book to iCal.
