Amazon has coughed up a nice little rumour today. iWork ’11 might be coming a lot sooner than some thought, and there’s a book to prove it. Most of us expected iWork ’11 to ship at the same time as iLife ’11, but the Back to Mac event came and went with only a mention of iLife ’11.
So where’s that leave iWork ’11? On the shelf at Amazon.
A quick iWork 11 search on the French Amazon website reveals an iWork ’11 book. The book is not on the American Amazon store, but it’s still available in France.
This isn’t the first time that a book managed to find its way onto Amazon before software reaches store shelves. iLife ’11 was also pre-announced on Amazon UK’s website a full month before being announced by Apple.
So iWork ’11 may not be shipping yet, but this is a pretty good indicator that an update is on the verge of being announced.
If you’re in the market for iWork, you’re going to want to wait awhile. iWork ’11 is probably just around the corner. There’s nothing worse than buying something only to have an update released weeks later.
