First, let’s get this out of the way, the product is called The Glif — not the GILF.
With every iteration of the iPhone and iPod Touch the camera seems to get just a little bit better. We now have the ability to not only take stills with our phones, but also HD video, which is a pretty big deal, considering less than ten years ago we didn’t even have cameras in our phones.
So, what is the Glif?
Every photographer worth his salt will tell you that the key to great photos is lighting and a steady hand. If you don’t have a steady hand, use a monopod or a tripod. The question remains, why haven’t we seen an iPhone mount for tripods yet? The Glif team is trying to solve that problem. Their goal is to create a tripod mount bracket for your iPhone. Pretty snazzy if you ask me.
I know a couple of people who would buy at least one or two of these things.

I like the Glif, but it does require you to take your phone out of its case to use it. And you can only use an iphone 4. I work for a company that offers a tripod mount called the GrippIt, which works with any phone and allows you to leave that phone in its case. Also, it's ten bucks cheaper.
