Update: it’s *639#. I got a text back…

“A full discount on a standard headset or iPhone upgrade is not available at this time but you may qualify on 08/23/2011. I got a 3GS in December.

I tried to dial 639# on two different iPhone 3GS’s and one 2G, it can’t be done. The iPhone automatically inserts a dash so it always shows “639-#” and can’t be completed. Is there another way to check?

It’s actually *639# to check (if you just do 639# it won’t be processed). FWIW, I got my 3GS in July of last year, and checking now, it says “as a valued customer, they can offer me an upgrade with a new 2-yr commitment; we’ll see tomorrow.
