Multitasking will NOT come to older iPhone and iPod Touch Models

For those of us using older models of iPhone (1st Generation, 3G) and iPod Touch (1st & 2nd Generation), we won’t be able to use the multitasking features that are coming out with iPhone OS 4.0 this summer. Steve did mention that other aspects of the software upgrade will work on older models, but the hardware just can’t handle the resource-intensive multitasking. As we get closer to the launch, we’ll likely see what won’t work well (or at all) on older models.

What are your thoughts? Is it time for you to finally upgrade that iPod Touch? Comment on this post or hit me up on Twitter.
