Feedly gets an iPhone prototype

I’ve been hoping that they’ll give us a sneak peak of some upcoming versions, or even a version for the iPad.

The word is out today is that they’ve put together a prototype for the iPhone; which I’d assume is the first step towards an iPad edition. One of the reasons I’m so excited for the iPad is that I think it’s going to be the ultimate news device. That is something that I just can’t say about the iPhone. I cannot get over the lack of screen real-estate, and having to scrolling an article every three sentences. But, if there’s one developer who can change my mind it’s Feedly. Honestly, they’ve taken the crappy GReader and turned it into something down right amazing. I declared bankruptcy on RSS long ago, but Feedly changed that for me. I have hope that their iPhone app will do the same.

*High Five to Feedly*

I couldn’t agree more! I just made Chrome my default browser and set to Feedly as my homepage. The two of those together make for a pretty awesome internet browsing and news reading experience.

Yup, feedly was the only thing keeping me on Firefox. Now that Chrome does plugins I’ve left FF behind.

I still use it but for one thing only: WiseStamp social e-mail signatures. Have you checked out their Firefox plugin? It’s pretty sweet. I prefer the look and feel of what they’re doing with their Chrome extension but it’s still in its early stages and the Firefox plugin is more fleshed out. Now if only they’d make a plugin for Apple’s Mail.app. Care to second my request? :)

I haven’t heard of that plugin. I’m going to look into it. Is it something like this?

It’s a lot like that. But yours is far better looking ;) That’s a great article by the way. I wish I had discovered your post before I tried to figure that out myself. I had been using a similar html signature in Apple Mail for my a’tris messages but switched to using WiseStamp when I learned that it could automatically add a users latest tweets or RSS feeds to an e-mail. I decided to have it pull my most recent blog post; but I would imagine, if you had a picasa account, it could pull your latest photograph. Perhaps you could have it even point to a new MP3. It’s a really powerful plugin and the best part is that it’s super easy to use. Here’s what I put together in five minutes at most:

Is this something you would be interested in reviewing/sharing here? If so, I’d love to do a guest post about it. I’ve been reading your posts for a long time now and I really dig what you’re doing. It would be an honor to become a contributor.

Thanks for pointing out Feedly – just checked it out and seems great.

No problem Will. Glad you like it. It really did change the way I viewed my RSS feeds.

Sorry, didn’t know that I couldn’t embed images in comments. Here’s a direct link to that signature I mentioned in my last comment:

This whole saga is a win-win for everyone involved, except for the guy who lost the prototype. Gizmodo did some actual journalism and got a lot of attention (if you can call paying $5k for stuff journalism) and Apple stays in the news until this thing comes out and sells even more of them.
