Resizing Finder Items

Grant Brunner | Thu, Nov 26, 2009

I am a huge fan of tweaking my operating system until it is exactly how I want it. People do a lot of complaining about the Finder, but I find it to be rather nice once I have everything tweaked properly. In this post, I’ll show you how to change the icon size and grid spacing in your Finder window.

Launch a Finder window, and navigate to the folder of your choice. Now, press CMD+J to bring up the view options. You will see two sliders. One of these is titled “Icon size” and the other is titled “Grid spacing.” Moving the first slider with either increase or decrease the size of your icons. The second slider will alter how closely spaced the icons are together.

By making small tweaks like this, you are well on your way to making your computer work the way you want it to work.
