You can actually restart all tabs from last session on Safari. This feature was available since Safari 3. Im pretty sure this works for crashes. When you launch Safari in the menu bar go to History and then 'Restore Previous Tabs' or it will say something like this, sorry not at my mac. It's a feature I was looking for when I first got my mac and changed from Firefox to Safari.

that and i also wish i had the option to open new links in tabs created in the background
nothing worse then being pulled away from what you're focused on just to follow a link
opera does this but takes forever to start up

im also a fan of the “create your own search” in opera, i.e. “g mac gasm” would google for macgasm in the address bar.. but thats less important

not a perfect fix, but works and loads the browser quickly
if i had the option to enable it automatically, by a keystroke or a button, that would be great…

To force “new window” links to open in a new tab instead, open a terminal and type:

defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool true

I used safari 4 beta for a couple of days and found it faster, the only problem i had was viewing my emails in Hotmail. I could login ok to site but when it came to viewing my emails in the inbox it wouldn't open them up. Tried same proceedure in Firefox and it loaded them straight up, any idea what is causing this, or are you having similar problems?

Also, Apple's decision to move the tab bar to the top runs parallel with how Google designs its Chrome browser, which also has tab bars on top of the window.

Safari is not part of iLife & Firefox has issues with memory leaks.
