Apple has just released Java Update 2 for OS X 10.5. It’s 137 megabytes. I would recommend that everybody apply this update. It can be downloaded here.
This update also applies to OS X 10.4. This is update 7. This update is only 79 megabytes and is available from here.
Java updates are security updates and bug fixes.

This update is for OS X 10.4 or higher.
