1st Gen iPhone to Wireless iPod

Quick Tips

    By: Wayne Dixon

Just a quick hint for those who have or will upgrade from a 1st Generation iPhone to the new iPhone 3G.  Remove the SIM out of the old iPhone.  This will stop it from looking for the Wireless Service Provider and allow for better battery life.  For even better battery life turn off the Wireless, unless, you’re using it at the time.  The only drawback to this, which is minor in my opinion, is that you will have to acknowledge the fact that there isn’t a SIM in the slot.  But this is only when you startup the phone, so it’s not really a big deal. Viola, a new iPod Touch… iPhone edition ;)

Just something I thought everybody should be aware of when upgrading.
