Colorate: Create color palettes from photos

Joshua Schnell | Thu, Jan 3, 2008

ColorateThere are quite a few applications that let you create color schemes on the Mac, but this one is free (well not completely, it’s donationware), and this one lets you take your colors directly from an image. “Once the palette has been generated, it is possible to add the new palette to the Library. Colorate can save and open as many Libraries as needed.” Now that’s what I’m talking about. It also lets you save the pallettes as a .clr extension, and for those of you not in the know that means that any app that uses the OS X color panel, should be able to do something with these palettes.

Thats a nice little application… there are loads of “color pickers” out there but the ability to import the color schemes into other aplications really sets it apart from most of them.
