VOIP, and the iPhone/Touch

Joshua Schnell | Mon, Dec 31, 2007

TouchModWord on the street is that there is finally an app that lets you connect to skype with your iPhone/Touch. There has been speculation and proof of concept models abound for the last couple of months, but there is finally an application that will be available for consumption. TouchMods has even gone as far as taking preorders for a line in/mic for those Touch users you are without a built in microphone. I have to say, I’m a little bit skeptical about this app, but I’m super excited, and I’m hoping that I’m proven wrong. I’m not getting an iPhone any time soon, and I’m definitely not re-upping my contract with Rogers. Now, if I can get voip on a device…Wow. I’ll pick up a touch immediately. I guess we’ll see in approximately 4 hours just how much of this is hype and how much is reality. Here’s to hoping.
